Stephen Fechtor

In April of 2003, Stephen Fechtor took his 20+ years of leadership experience in the advertising industry and started Fechtor Advertising with a card table, a couple of folding chairs, some rented office space and the promise of work from a potential client (which never materialized).  Since that time, Fechtor Advertising has been working with clients such as Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Disability Rights Ohio, Donatos, the City of Dublin, Easton Town Center, Graeter’s Ice Cream, Jewish Family Services, Leo Alfred Jewelers, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, PDS Planning, The Ohio State University/Fisher College of Business and law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease.

Previously, Stephen held leadership positions at various advertising agencies, where he spearheaded and developed award-winning work for regional and national clients.

As a partner and Chief Creative Officer at Ten United, Stephen oversaw the creative product of all offices, and led the development of brand campaigns for AEP, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Carnival Cruise Lines, Huntington Banks, Florida Lottery, Target, and The Ohio State University.

As a Creative Director at DMB&B, Stephen worked with clients like Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser & Michelob), M&M/Mars (M&M’s and Skittles), Banquet Foods and Naturalizer shoes.

And as Corporate Creative Director for Fahlgren Martin (now Fahlgren Mortine), Stephen oversaw the creative product in all offices, leading the work for Ameritech, McDonald’s and Nestle Ice Cream.

Stephen began his advertising career at Interpublic’s Lowe & Partners in New York City, where he rose to the position of Creative Director, managing creative people and product in New York and Cleveland. While at Lowe, he created award-winning work for clients like Citibank Visa and MasterCard, Comerica Bank, Minute Maid Orange Juice, Sprite, Diet Sprite, Bob Evans Farms, Gillette, Parker Pen, Ponderosa Steakhouse and the City of New York.

Stephen has won virtually every significant industry award, including numerous ONE SHOW awards, National ADDYs, the London International Festivals, the New York International Festivals, Mercury Awards, Art Director’s Annual, the British D&AD (finalist), and ADWEEK Midwest Copywriter of the Year.

He is also a recipient of the American Advertising Federation’s coveted Silver Medal Award, which recognizes people who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.

Stephen’s work has been featured in PRINT and ARCHIVE magazines, and has been used in graphics and advertising texts.

Before entering advertising, Stephen was an award-winning composer/lyricist, and has written music for the theater, film, Sesame Street records, and the advertising industry.

He is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University.
